Springtime in Northamptonshire

Painted in gouache and measuring 50 x 33 cm. The painting was commissioned by Sonja Humphries of East Haddon, a pretty village in the Northamptonshire Uplands. Sonja wanted me to paint the view from her back garden, as a surprise birthday gift for her husband, Stuart. Sonja suggested including a balloon flying over and I thought that their two children waving to the balloon would add the finishing touch!
